Lorena Garcia Ph.D. '06 is an Associate Professor of Sociology and Latin American and Latino Studies at the University of Illinois at Chicago. She is the author of "Respect Yourself, Protect Yourself: Latina Girls and Sexual Identity."
Julie Fleshman ‘97 has dedicated her life to global pancreatic cancer research. Cancer directly impacted Fleshman’s life but she uses her experience to give hope to hundreds of thousands of people struggling with the same.
DJ Darla Bea ‘03 knows how to get a party started. Dubbed the Best DJ in Santa Barbara numerous times, she doesn’t abide by the rules but instead uses her creativity and nostalgic touch to make magic happen.

The Biden Administration recently appointed Dr. Tanya Das Ph.D. '17 Chief of Staff for the Department of Energy’s Office of Science. Previously, Tanya served as a Professional Staff Member on the U.S. House Committee on Science, Space, and Technology.
