Wyatt Daily '12: As a filmmaker and a Gaucho, I was very inspired by the surf culture in Santa Barbara, so I decided to make a film about it! Our film "Spoons: A Santa Barbara Story" tells how Santa Barbara changed the world of surfing forever. Our film went on to premiere at SBIFF (Santa Barbara International Film Festival) as the closing night film, and we packed the Arlington Theater! Spoons went on to be named "Best Documentary" multiple times, and brought home a total of six wins from film festivals internationally. I couldn't be more proud to be a Gaucho and help celebrate this beautiful community.

Sian Ayres-Harden '15: I'm a director of film and theater, film maker, and co-founder of Firelight Entertainment along with Gabrielle Korte from UCSB. We recently released a synchronized film version of a Midsummer Night's Dream which we created during quarantine. In creating this film we utilized remote film making techniques and our extensive UCSB alumni connections, as well as many other actors from across the United States. Our mission was to create a film remotely, and prove that despite obstacles and distance, artists can join together and create art anywhere. We are currently in pre-production for our next film which will use will include interactive elements and innovative storytelling.

Jesse Waddell '16: My Gaucho culture is the teachings and experiences that I've taken with me throughout my life. I am an active company member in The Original Practice Shakespeare Festival where we do completely unrehearsed productions of a variety of Shakespeares' plays. Not only that but I live stream a dungeons and dragons storytelling show with fellow cast member Tyler Koontz on Tylers' Handsome Corner Tavern.
